Bridge Foundation Programs

The Bridge Foundation promotes best practices for children and families in early care and education and other related sectors such as family support, youth development and child welfare through research, seminars, inter-disciplinary capacity building, technical assistance, program development services and consultation.


We currently share with you the Read to Rise book exchange program creatively designed by the Foundation using best practice concepts of book rotation. This model gently introduces books to children, encourages reading between child and parent, promotes family-school-literacy-collaboration while innovatively building libraries for schools.  More on Read to Rise

This summer, Bridge Foundation launch it's Summer Reading programme with the intention to encourage each child to complete a book by the end of the July/August vacation.This best pratice strategy “promotes Summer Reading as a complimentary brain exercise to the physical activities that the children would be engaged in during the school vacation. Both Read to Rise and Read for the Record Day are evidenced-based programs and strategies that support early literacy and have shown to improve educational outcomes for young children.

Bridge Foundation Supports Local Authors and Schools

Author Series

Jumpstarts Read for the Record day Trinidad 2011.

We also participate in a best practice strategy that promotes the importance of reading and early literacy through the Read for the Record Day; a global reading celebration supported by Jumpstart.  


Jumpstart is an internationally recognized early literacy program that helps children develop the language and literacy skills to improve their early success in school.

Every year in October, a global reading celebration is launched by Jumpstart and last year the Bridge Foundation sponsored 28 schools in Trinidad and Tobago, with a participation of of 2, 314 children. This year, we expand to 56 schools.
